In this globalization era, everything could be changing. Everything follows the flow of this modernization. It is such kind of domino effect, if something happened, something else will be influenced too just like in education term. The old version of education can’t be implemented anymore. The method of teaching or even the form of the school has had many changing. Say for instant, many years ago, vocational school is not popular at all. It is considered as low quality education for student. That’s why; the existence of vocational school itself is extremely rare. But, we can take a look on this day; can we count how many vocational schools in our city? Yah… there are so many that almost we can’t count it. The amount of that’s kind of school is almost the same with public school. Public school here means a common school that there are not specific vocational program.
The reason why it is happened is necessity of the citizens in Indonesia. The citizens in Indonesia want to get a proper job with instant way. Because, with studying in vocational school, it is easy to get a proper job because we have had a specific skill. In the other hand, it seems like a solution for Indonesia where there are many jobless in it. If this kind of school is given proper facilities by the government, it means that the government is trying to reduce the jobless amount in Indonesia. But, it doesn’t mean that the student in vocational school can’t continue their study to the university. They still can do it, moreover it will be better for them because they have had basic skill from their vocational school if the program is the same between their vocational school and university. So, they can advance and enrich their skill
In the other hand, a million strengths of vocational school can’t erase the existence of public school for ever. Why? Because there are many program in public school that can’t be change by vocational school. In the other words, public school is still the best choice for the students who want to continue their study to university that the program they choose is not there in vocational school. That’s why, the public school still already exist until now or even until dooms day. As the conclusion, we can’t find the winner of the fight between vocational school and public school because both of them have each strengths and weakness. It is different in each point of view. And finally, the subject who would like to choose is the only one who can determine the winner. Which one is the best for them.
